The Price of Stubbornness
"Yeah! And me, too. These are the guys I've come with, Nina, meet them," she started calling their names, "and this is my friend, Harut, I have told you about him, if you remember."
"That very guy5 who helped you all come here? Oh, how
wonderful, very nice to meet you, Harut."
"Nice to meet you, too," said Harut with a smile, a very reserved one though.
"So who is staying in this room?" wondered Nina.
"Samvel, Hakob, Ashot and Gurgen; Arman has to go to stay in a room with three other guys," replied Anna.
"How about the others, don't they wanna stay here?"
"Oh, they do, but see, the problem is there are no vacant places in the motel right now."
"No vacant places? Are you sure he said that? The whole motel is empty, he couldn't be serious about that."
"He said that all the rooms were reserved."
"Oh, that's a pity, I wish I could help. I myself have reserved two places in my room for my friends; they should be coming in a week or so. And where are you going to stay my darling?"
This question of Nina's took Anna by surprise. She was really shocked and wordless.
She had thought that the places were reserved for her. She realized that Harut was right saying that Nina was no friend to her. But Anna had many negative traits and never admitting her mistakes was one of them.
