The Cafeteria
"Thanks. Where are you from, anyway?"
"Armenia."
"Oh, great! What language do you guys speak over there?"
"Armenian!"
"Isn't that wonderful!" said the man and took his seat on the ride.
"Pull the restraint bars down, sir," said Ani.
"Wait, wait, wait!" said that same black guy, "have you checked the kid's height?"
Ani remembered that she had not. Cold beads of sweat covered her.
"I'll check it right now," she said.
"Don't worry sweetheart, I'll do it now," said the guy and turned to the customer, "Excuse me, sir, I have to check her height: she has to be at least forty-two inches tall to be able to go on the ride."

"Oh, Goodness gracious! Come on man, she is forty-two inches tall!"
"Don't get in attitude with us, that's the policy. We have to check her height," said the guy, took the baby by the hand and walked to the red measuring bar. It had a white stripe on it, and the children had to be on or over that white line.
"Stand up straight on your feet, not your toes, and put your feet back."
The kid apparently didn't reach the line.
"I'm sorry sir, but I can't let him go on the ride, he is too short."
"Too short? No way, I paid money for the tickets, and he's gonna ride!"
"I'm afraid I'll have to call the security if you don't leave, sir. I warn you last time," said the guy.
