The Land of Freedom
"Who is it?" he wondered.
"Open up. It's housekeeping."
He opened the door and let them in. They started cleaning up the room: vacuum-cleaning the floor, mopping the bathroom floor, changing the bed linen. When they started cleaning the table, they saw a paper bag with some doughnuts in it. They were quite fresh; he had bought it the previous day. But apparently they didn't seem fresh to one of the cleaning girls.
"Ok. Let me tell you something," she said. "When you eat something and there is left-over, you gotta trash it. You understand?"
Harut got furious. Those ignorant girls, who couldn't even read or write and who supposedly had stolen his camcorder were teaching him to get rid of fresh doughnuts while he had seen the adjoining rooms which were in a total mess.
"Do you think we are from jungle? Do you think you have to tell me that I have to get rid of left-over? I bought those doughnuts yesterday, and I'm gonna eat them today. I ain't dumping them! You understand?"
"Ok, fine. I'll call the landlady," she said and went to bring the owner.
"Call whoever you find appropriate!" he called her back.
A few moments later she came back with a woman of forty. "You have to move out of the motel. You need to empty the room in an hour," she said without inquiring about the problem.
