The Calypso
… Ani liked the room: it was large, nice and clean. As it later turned out, a Russian girl was living there already, and she expected four more roommates later in the week. Ani was very tired, so was Harut. And yet he waited till she took a shower, unpacked her things, lay in the bed and only then did he leave.
When he got back to Atlantic Scene, the guys were at a loss: the restroom was clogged up, the AC was out of order, and the door didn't close properly.
They were extremely tired and wouldn't have minded to go to sleep, but since they had to solve these problems and didn't speak English well enough to make themselves understood, they had to wait until Harut came back. Whereas Harut had hoped he would go straight to bed upon returning. His hope was shattered. He went to see the manager, Miss Martha.
"Our restroom is clogged, the AC is not functioning properly; it needs to be fixed right away. In addition, something is wrong with the door: I can't lock it properly, I guess the lock needs to be changed."
"Ok, ok. Too much at a time, huh1. I'll send someone in a minute."
"If you please..."
Her dumb face didn’t show a lot of emotions, but she did scribble something down on a piece of a yellow, cigarette-holed paper.
